Great Egret

$700.00

This oil painting of a Great Egret is painted on a 9” x 12” Centurion linen panel. The antiqued silver frame design appears on the front and sides of the frame. The frame measures 12.25” x 15” and has a frame moulding width of 1 5/8.” This Great Egret wades gracefully in shallow water in a tidal creek at mid tide level. They often stand motionless in the water in search of prey — mostly fish or small land prey.

Great Egrets live in South Carolina salt marshes. There are four kinds of egrets mostly known as snowy egrets. This Great Egret is the largest kind and is distinquised by its long, yellow/orange bill, black legs and feet.
